Everything felt like a dream yesterday . As in I didn't feel real the whole day . It's hard to believe yesterday was the day . The concert was what we have worked hard towards since last year . All for that 3h , for the 900 people audience .
I guess I'll blog in detail , so that when we too graduate from NYCO one day , I'll be able to look back and reminisce . My own involvement in this concert , my own feelings , my own memories .
It was real hectic . Esp. the loading and unloading of instruments . We were the first bus to reach so yeah we helped them to move their percussion instrus to backstage first . Kinda clumsy and 手忙脚乱 . We had no idea how to operate the cargo lift [you could actually press something to like make it stationary so the doors wont close] . And the doors don't cose horizontally , they close vertically . And they just come down suddenly even when we're pressing the button thinggy so I didn't really dare to like go in and out . Like lollllll the doors closed twice when we we weren't in the lift with the instruments inside and we just keep pressing the buttons frantically hahaha .
Linlao and Mrs Ee. ran through some parts of all 大合奏s before the actual rehearsal began . Rehearsal was okayyyyyy I felt completely relaxed and calm unlike Chinny who was damn nervous already hahaha . Linlao changed into suit and when I saw him for Bali I laughedddd like LOL . He's damn funny . But Linlao's conductor didn't fly out at least . We didn't have time to play Shanjian and Taiyang and poor Chinny was freaked out about that . LOL . Cherie was the one who told us that we weren't running through the 2 songs and Chinny was like 你不可以这样对我! Hilarious xD
Dinner was chicken rice it tasted okay . Uhhh went to holding room after that and we started
preparing ourselves . Chinny's hair is simply horrible ! Like really bad and I helped her comb it:D And I helped the whole Shengsuo to put on makeup except for Jasmine who simply refused to even if it's really light makeup awww ! But everyone was laughing hahaha . Jessy wanted to put on makeup for me but I don't trust anyone with my hair or makeup xD We took pictures as Shengsuo and I was makeupless in all the pictures cos I makeup-ed myself last ! So much fun in the holding room taking pictures and last-min lianing but of course Zhongshengs can't lian without our shengs !
Xiaohong was the one who came to tell us the concert was starting and there was a mad rush when everyone grabbed their instrus and court shoes and scores and whathaveyous . I was like I don't believe it the whole time and while we were waiting to enter I suddenly became nervous and my hands got clammy cos it was like oh gosh this is it . Chinny was totally ahhhhhh she was super uber nervous !
Bali and Shadier were not bad ! Other than screwing up a few notes , I didn't come in wrongly or anything else so I'm happy whee:D I like the part in Shadier after Meixin's solo then we suddenly play haha to see the audience get shocked is fun ! Chinny totally screwed up Shadier at the end she was playing the opposite of us . But on a positive note , I think it was better than rehearsal .
Went back holding room and it was sms frenzy . I was trying to find out where people were sitting . 201 was on the rigt aisle[on the slope] , Mingzhen & Cas were on the left[Jessy saw them coming in cos they were late so the probably missed listening to Bali] but I never did find out where Kailun and Pinglou were . Time passed super fast and we were next for diyierhu .
Diyierhu was fineeeee ! I think overall it was great . 方块3 was :S Zhongshengs came in at different time sighhhhhhhh we spent so much time lian-ing just that few notes . I hope it wasn't very obvious though . Chinny got her solo part right yayyyyyyy:D She was so stressed out by it before that haha . Mrs Ee. said diyierhu was good though and everyone was happy ! :D
Mingzhen called me during the interval but I wasn't able to meet:/ Sorryyyyy we weren't suppose to .
Before we knew it it was Shanjian and Taiyang . Shanjian was pretty good and Taiyang rocked:D Taiyang was a grand finale I think and it's the song we've spent lian-ing the longest considering the fact that it was the first concert song we knew and it's my favourite . Bar 103 onwards was screwedddd); I messed up the notes cos I was so intent on getting the tempo right !
And that was the end of 丝竹情韵 '08 .
We did 3 cheers:D for NYCO , Mrs Ee. , Linlao , alumni and every section did their own . Guangyue did one too but suonas didn't join in._. Everyone was like super high and just anyhow scream :D
Hahaa packed sheng and NYCO took photo together on stage . But us sheng peeps didn't have any instru to take picture with lollllll except for gaoshengs .
Moved the instrus down to be loaded onto the truck then I excused myself to meet people . Saw Bowen and Jiayi for like 1sec lol . Thanks for the flower:D Saw Chermain:D Thanks for the flower and hug:D Saw Jingwen , Jingting and Eunice . Thanks for the hugs:D
Bus-ed back to school and reached at around 1145 . Helped Daji to move instrus back . Somehow it took longer than usual . I guess cos we were wandering around the school in dark and we could only use the lift . I walked barefooted hahaha cos I couldn't stand walking in court shoes anymore . I got a fat blister at the back of my left foot and something which hurts on the big toe of my right foot :/
Left school at around 1245 after we finished moving marimba which was the last instru left and the hardest to move cos it had to be dismantled . Dad came to fetch me and he waited for like 1h lol .

Oh something haha : on the program booklet it's stated that Bali's world premiere lollllll . Cos it's composed by Linlao so we're the first orchestra to play it? And Meixin sent Xiaohong a sms and Xiaohong found it funny so she shoed everyone cos she had no idea whose number it was then Meixin was upset cos she thought Xiaohong thought she was a pervet hahaha .
&the Guzheng girls look real pretty . Yijun looked super cute xD
Concert was a success in the end and I'm proud of it . Proud to be a member of NYCO . Happy that all went well and that it's over , we can all relax a bit and also cos our efforts paid off . But sad , that it's the seniors' last concert and yesterday according to Chinny it'll be her last day as SL . Sad that there'll be no more xiaozu or dazu with the sec 4s . I think I'l feel it most without Chinny . Our Chinsian ahma and Sheng's SL for 2years . I shall not get sentimental but Sheng will miss her lots . Sighhhhhhhhhh it's also the sec 3s' concert too );
I know concert's over but I'm still in post concert mood yeah . I won't be able to believe that seniors will never lian with us again . It's like madness :/ But they'll be back to see us often and I'll look forward to that :D I'll leave the sad post to the day when they "leave" NYCO .

All those mentioned above and a few others who didn't attend the concert [Rachel , Yangxi , Wangqing , Gabriel , Yongsheng , Linsha .. ] sorry I can't remember who else but you guys are loved too ! And yeah Yangxi I'm superrrrrrrrrr honoured to be mentioned in your blog:D And thanks Xiaohong for the cucumber(?) we're all as cool as a cucumber , yo .
